The Way to Salvation
THE WAY TO SALVATION
A Christian Guide to Knowing Jesus and Living for Him
JESUS LOVES YOU!
God created you to know Him and have a relationship with Him. No matter what you have done, God offers you forgiveness, a new beginning, and eternal life through Jesus Christ.
You do not have to make yourself perfect before coming to Jesus. Come to Him as you are and let Him change your life.
YOU CAN BE SAVED!
John 3:16 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
WHO IS JESUS?
What Did Jesus Do?
Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came into the world to save us from sin. God loves us, but sin separates us from Him. We cannot remove our sins by being good enough or doing good deeds.
Jesus lived without sin. He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. Because He lives, we can receive forgiveness and new life through Him.
Romans 3:23 (KJV)
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)
“Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
Remember: Jesus died for you, but the grave could not hold Him!
THE ONLY WAY
Why Do I Need Jesus?
Sin separates us from God. We cannot save ourselves through good deeds, money, church attendance, or religious traditions. Salvation is God's gift, made possible through Jesus Christ.
Jesus died and rose again so we can be forgiven and restored to God. He is not just one way to God. He is the way God provided for our salvation.
John 14:6 (KJV)
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12 (KJV)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
The good news: You do not have to earn God's love. You can respond to His love by turning to Jesus and obeying His Word.
HOW TO BE SAVED
Respond to God's Call!
God loves you and wants you to be saved. You do not have to earn His love. Salvation is a gift received through faith in Jesus Christ. When you come to Him, He forgives you and begins changing your life.
1. BELIEVE IN JESUS
Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again. Put your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:9 (KJV)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
2. REPENT OF YOUR SINS
Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God. You admit that you need Him and choose to follow His way.
Acts 3:19 (KJV)
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out...”
3. RECEIVE GOD'S FORGIVENESS
Come to Jesus with an honest heart. Confess your sins and trust His promise to forgive you.
Romans 10:13 (KJV)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
4. RECEIVE THE HOLY GHOST
God wants to fill you with His Spirit and help you live a new life. Seek Him in prayer and surrender to His leading. In the book of Acts, believers were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:4 (KJV)
“And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
A Prayer to Begin Your Walk with Jesus
“Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for my sins and rose again. I confess that I need You. I repent of my sins and turn my life over to You. Please forgive me, make me new, and teach me to live in a way that pleases You. Fill me with Your Holy Ghost and lead me in Your truth. I trust You as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
Remember: The prayer itself does not save you. Salvation comes through God's grace as you put your faith in Jesus Christ. This prayer is one way to express your faith and surrender to Him.
YOUR NEW LIFE
What Do I Do Now That I'm Saved?
Salvation is the beginning of a new life with Jesus. As you grow in Him, you will learn to trust Him, obey His Word, and become more like Him.
1. Pray every day. Talk to God about your needs, concerns, and thankfulness.
2. Read the Bible. Start with the Gospel of John. Learn what Jesus taught and how His followers lived.
3. Find a Bible-believing church. Worship with other Christians and learn from a pastor who teaches the whole Bible without compromise.
4. Let God change you. Ask the Holy Ghost to help you make good choices and show the love of Jesus.
1 Peter 2:2 (KJV)
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.”
Three Important Words to Know
SANCTIFICATION — Being Made Holy
Sanctification means being set apart for God and allowing Him to make you more like Jesus. The Holy Ghost helps you turn away from sin and live in a way that pleases God.
1 Thessalonians 4:3 (KJV)
“For this is the will of God, even your sanctification...”
CONSECRATION — Giving Yourself to God
Consecration means giving your life, plans, time, and choices to God. You choose to follow His will instead of living only for yourself.
Romans 12:1 (KJV)
“Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
DELIVERANCE — Freedom Through Jesus
Deliverance means being set free from the power and bondage of sin and the works of the devil through Jesus Christ. Pray, stand on God's Word, and seek help from mature Christians as you trust in His power.
John 8:36 (KJV)
“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE
Don't Give Up! Come Back to God.
Following Jesus does not mean you will never face temptation. If you sin, do not run away from God or give up on your faith.
ADMIT YOUR SIN. Be honest with God about what you did.
REPENT. Turn away from sin and turn back to God.
ASK FOR FORGIVENESS. Trust God to forgive you and help you do what is right.
KEEP FOLLOWING JESUS. Learn from your mistake and seek help when you need it.
God's grace is not permission to keep sinning. It is a gift that helps us change and live for Him.
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 2:1 (KJV)
“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”
